ATING - KOOP Mindanao Convention

Last September 6, 2008 the ATING-KOOP Partylist successfully conducted the Mindanao Convention at the Grand Caprice Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City.

The cooperatives from different Regions in Mindanao attended this momentous event to celebrate and show the strength of the cooperative movement.

This event is not only a dream come true for the cooperative movement but a more noble purpose for such creation, so as to move the cooperative cause and protect its interest from any form of threats.

Mr. Isagani Daba the Mindanao Representative officer delivers the welcome address by asking "What kind of politics have been dwelling with us?" "Are we in the cooperative movement sit tight and say leave politics to the politicians?". That opening question opens us to better understand what we in the cooperative movement can do to clean the mess of our messy politicians. Fr. Mar Arenas, the President of the Ating-Koop partylist was very enthusiastic about the partylist and give some inputs during his talk. Commissioner Proculo T. Sarmen, Executive Vice President of the Partylist was very serious of the undertaking and expresses that it is now time that the cooperatives stand up and make a difference in the political arena. Cooperative have offered much to the Social and economic benefits of its members and this time the evolution of change directs the movement to a bolder step towards a clean politics through the cooperative principles.

We still have hope. and we have a chance through the cooperative way.
