GrabCar for Davao

I'm not promoting GRAB... I'm just happy with the service. Not in Davao but in Cebu and I want it to be in Davao!

Few days ago I happen to visit our office in Cebu and had a few meetings for a few days. Before my trip ended my sister invited me to meet her with my mother since they are also vacationing and doing some work in Cebu (her work is online, so its not much of a problem for her). She told me to meet up in Robinsons Cebu near Pier 4 which is a bit far from my hotel. At first I was hesitant considering the traffic and the inconvenience of going. I'm not much of going out. But She told me not to worry about a ride because she can book me a Grab Car, sounds new and exciting so I agreed.

After a few minutes she text me that I am to be picked up by an Eon Hyundai color white with plate number I already forgot. Wow! 2 minutes and the Eon is already outside my Hotel. I went to see the Driver and he ask my name and that my sister Rosie had booked me and that he's my driver to Robinson's. I'm impressed, I hop in and we talked going to Robinson's. I paid premium because Im happy that I ride on a new and clean car with a very friendly driver and a convenient ride (I told myself, it's gonna kill the taxi industry unless they'll upgrade or improve their service).

In short after that I downloaded GRAB on my phone and ride GRAB anywhere I go which is very convenient and I feel safer. I think the fare is reasonable and my sister told me there are promos most of the time, NOT from time to time. So that's what I'm going to research about.

I was wondering if GRAB Car is in Davao.

IN DAVAO.

When I fly home to Davao I was excited to see GRAB banners at the airport but since Taxi is still the major transport I choose a metered Taxi. When I got to the office I open my GRAB tried to book but to my surprise it only got a GRAB Taxi and GRAB Taxi AUV. What the..! GRrrr...

I felt sad about it. It's not available pala in Davao? I'm wondering why?

There's only one thing registered in my mind, may be its because Taxi still offers a very good service in Davao. GRAB taxi has been around in Davao since 2014.

In my opinion, I think GrabCar should now be made available in Davao. I would be very glad to support this move.

I hope it will also be available in Cagayan de Oro and in Iloilo
